Multi-national company ADEO requested a new design solution for lighting, designed for the future household.

FOCOLARE is a household lighting system for the wireless family inspired by the traditional hearth in the home; where one source of central light was shared and transported for all the functions of the home.
-The approach
Design an adaptive lighting system for the wireless family.
- Introducing technology
Inductive wireless energy is market-ready. The design also includes a path towards Beacon RF Energy Transfer (soon to replace Inductive Energy).
- Strategy
Using the ritual form of a communal fire to direct users on how to "share" their energy. With the inclusion of wireless energy, the FOCOLARE functions as individual lights that can combine to create a greater light - creating a greater light when gathered, and a focused light when used individually.
FOCOLARE provides three wireless portable lights that, when put together,
illuminate the whole for an ambient gathering point.
Individual lights express both task and portability.
They function as both a handheld torch, and with a flip of the top half, as a standing directed light.
3 components; 3 options - table top; legs 20cm; legs 125cm
